    What is better for a kitchen table top

    a pre cat lacquer or catalyzed conversion varnish?

    I would use catalyzed conversion varnish.

    Thanks for the reply Scott. This will be a purchased table (don't have the time and I cannot spray anyway) and the finish choices are from two different places. My thought was that the conversion varnish is the best finish, at least for this purpose.
