    Piano / Keyboard Benches

My first attempt at simple furniture. I bought my wife a piano keyboard for Christmas & wanted to try making a bench for her. I found (2) sets of legs, sanded them down & took it from there. Didn't take any in-process pictures knowing you know better than I do how to make these.

My wife decided on the one with Queen Ann legs, so that left the other one which she didn't like. I wish she would decide on finished woodwork rather than white. It's now on Craigslist. Oh well, next time is still ahead of me.

Oops! Forgot to load the pictures. Getting older has its downside.

Very nice work, Al. A good seat is always appreciated when one it sitting to play at the keyboard. I honestly like your wife's choice...the legs add something to it. Of course, my backside would prefer the padding on the other one. LOL

Thanks Jim, the legs are what really turned her on. Her legs turned me on too!

Nice! I like the compartment under the seat. I use a padded adjustable concert bench with no storage so I tend to put music on the floor!

Hey, a bit of perhaps interesting trivia - when I bought my Baldwin I also bought the concert bench Billy Joel sat on during one of his tours. My buddy talked me into saving the material when I got it reupholstered. So any Billy Joel groupies out there want a piece of history?! Maybe I can sell it on EBay some day along with the plans to OJ Simpson's house...
