Thread: Aquarium stand

    Aquarium stand

My wife asked for something to put an aquarium on that had lots of room underneath, looked visually light, and didn't necessarily look like a purpose-built stand. My best effort below.

I used home-store plywood for the carcass (I hope somebody talks me down next time I try to save a buck that way), and poplar for edging and web frames. The doors are sen over baltic birch. Hardware is mail-order Ikea

I like it it's kinda classy looking.I used to make stands for reef tanks. So at first I thought your stand wasn't gong to fly.But then I saw the size of the tank. Nice !

Thanks! It's sturdier than it looks, but it obviously wouldn't hold a 180g full of live rock. Fortunately, she's into small, planted fresh-water tanks, and that particular one is a 22g.

Very nice. The face veneers look really nice with the light colored and thin appearance of the frame.
