Dovetails in drawerbox workout using Sketchup

I had planned to get some stock for d'boxes today and prep the blanks and mark out, but the March blizzard of '16 got in the way.

Totally snowbound. The deck is on the windward side of the house in this storm, and the Weber grille has a new-snow cap measuring 33 inches tall.

So I sketched up a layout in 3D to see what it might look like. 5/8" sides, maybe poplar or soft maple, a glued-on "veneer" of 1/8" cherry on the fronts, 1/2" white pine bottom with rebate to form 1/4" tongue. 7 degree tails.

    Nice!

How are you doing the veneer? Making it yourself, or getting it from elsewhere?

Resaw to about 3/16, glue on, plane down to about 1/8.
