    Wood ID

    Can anybody ID this wood? I was told it was part of the mirror frame on an antique dresser.

    No, I haven't told him that if it was truly antique, he shouldn't have sanded it.

    Or Beech. The color is a tad closer to Yellow Birch, though, if that pic is accurate.

    Hmmm, doesn't look like American beech to me, but I've only become intimate with my own trees. Maybe there's variation.
