So my Central Pneumatic 29 gallon air compressor doesn't exactly have the most conveniently located drain valve, and I sort of got lazy with just leaving the compressor / system on and pressurized because of it...

Well a couple of weeks back I came home from taking my wife to lunch to find the compressor wailing away and a loud hissing noise from the shop.

Come to find out, my whip hose from the compressor to my manifold blew out and the compressor had been running itself like crazy.

Once I turned it off, and verified that the compressor actually still worked fine, I knew I had to put an easier to get to drain valve, as well as an easier to shut off output valve onto the compressor / system...

I whipped up a video showing what I did, Hopefully this gives you some ideas on your own compressor drains. Don't be like me and leave the thing to just stay pressurized!
