    Wide Rim Maple Burl Bowl

    This is a maple burl bowl about 10 1/2" diameter x 2 1/2" tall x 3/16 thick. Finished with danish oil, buffed and waxed.

    Beautiful wood great job in presenting its beautiful array of color and figure without over embellishment. That's a real keeper.

    There's something about that grain that really seems to be three dimensional or transluscent. Nice gentle shape,too.

    I appreciate the compliments. The shape wasnt planned. I was getting rid of a void and was going to probably get a small bowl out of it when I flipped it and started hollowing, I had to go with the flair to show off the wood. I wasn't sure how the form would look.
