    Replacement bubbles????

I've got several 4 foot levels where the vertical bubble indicators are broken or completely trashed. They seem to be fairly universal in size. About 1 1/2 by 1 1/2 with 4 small retaining screws. Anyone know where to get replacements? My google-fu has failed me on this task!

    Thanks!

I have seen them on ebay.

Hardware stores used to keep some in stock. Any old time hardware stores in your neck of the woods?

    Jim,

I did a Google search using "level replacement parts" and "spirit level parts" and came up with things like this: http://www.stanleytoolparts.com/42-733-1-07-b-0.html .

The vials appear to be readily available on the internet but the covers are the things difficult to find. Good luck!

Yup, that's the same as I'm finding. Just hate the thought of needing to buy a new level just cause the cheap plastic bubble assembly is broken.

I'm just saying let's remove all the warning labels and let the problem sort itself out.

I'm after the whole thing. Think of a 4 foot level with the two end bubbles missing. You can do a horizontal level with your center bubble, but you're out of luck for vertical. I'm looking for the whole thing.

Do you know who made the levels, and, if so, have you tried contacting the manufacturer?
