    How would you finish these?

First off, I'm not sure this truly a finishing question. But, as Christmas presents for my work team and poker group, I'm making "pizza slips", as someone called them. The wooden board used to take pizzas out of the oven. I'm making them out of Baltic Birch. I thought about using mineral oil, like I do on my cutting boards. But will that interact with the glues in the plywood?

    Thanks,

    Dave

  2. Dave,
It looks like from the little research I did on this topic, that Mineral Oil is your best bet. It's the most commonly used finish in this circumstance.

They also mentioned to re-coat as necessary but a few good coats of MO should last you quite a few years. Also they stated to clean the boards with white vinegar as it acts as a disinfectant as well as water and wood don't mix the best. This should keep your pizza slip in tip top shape and last you quite awhile.
