Thread: No more messy stripper

Thumbs up No more messy stripper

I bought a solid walnut dresser with a oval mirror. I tried chemical stripper, well it would have taken a longtime and lots of detail work.
I have access to a harbor freight baking soda blaster from work. I bought the coarse 25 Lb. bag and used about 40 psi air pressure.
It took about 3.5 to 4 hrs to strip all the finish. I mean everything! back side, inside drawers, ornate trim around the mirror.
I removed the mirror to get the last bit and found a makers mark of 1942 vintage. It looked like I just made it from scratch.
I wanted to pass this on to save lots of time for those who are wanting to do this but have limited time.
