    Red Box Elder - Cigar

    Okay Guys and Gals -

Here is my latest creation, a Red Box Elder Cigar Pen with Chrome fittings (all Berea). When I first looked at the blank I said "hmm looks nice", then when I started to drill it for tubes red and brown dust wood chips came out. I said "oh boy this is going to be pretty"

    Steps to produce

1.) glued up the tubes with thin CA
2.) rounded it down (round nose scraper)
    3.) sanded it with 120, 220, 320, 400, 600, 800, 1000, 1500, 2000, Brown
    paper bag.
4.) thick CA followed by BLO
    5.) repeat step 4 3 times
    6.) Hut wax (2-step)
7.) Buffed it out (Tripoli, White, Red)
    8.) one coat of r-wax
9.) Asked John Hart to photgraph (he's got a nice photo booth)

Overall I really think this pen came out nice. comment are welcomed

I never got to welcome you to the Creek! Welcome to the Creek Rob! Nice looking Pen! To Everyone: Rob has just started turning (2 months) and he is creating some magnificent pens. (I get to see most of them when he comes into work.) He buys every tool, finish, sandpaper, wood....you name it. He's got the addiction bad!!!!
