need long dowel

son -in-law is redoing his antique fire engine. Needs a long 8 foot 1/12" oak dowel for the side hand holds. Anyone know where to look??

Is your size a typo, Darryl? 1/12". An 8' long piece of that would be like a wet noodle. :-)
