    Benchtop Sawing Vise

I recently built a version of the benchtop sawing vise AKA Moxon vise. Built out of Cherry and Maple and some metal bits. Screws are 3/4" Acme thread through captured nuts. About 4 1/4" tall, 24" wide with usable width of 15" and opens to about 4" deep. Not perfect but it works.

Don - that looks good. Where did you get the screw and nut hardware?

Nice Don. Kris: I was able to source Acme thread, Acme nuts (hex shaped) and some wheel-type handles for my Moxon build from McMaster Carr. I believe that the McMaster Carr shipping ticket showed up somewhere in my shop a few days ago and I may be able to provide part numbers if you need me to tomorrow.

I got the Acme rod and nuts from Enco-now MSC Direct. I bought metal hand wheels at the same time but they ended up being a little too big for the boards I had to work with so I just turned my own.
Thanks for all the nice comments.
