Which mini circular saw?

I'm looking at the Worx Worxsaw 4-1/2" for $57
vs
Rockwell for $80

I'm leaning toward the Rockwell, but maybe the other would be fine.

I don't have a bandsaw or tablesaw and I hate my big old heavy 7-1/4" skillsaw, it's to clutzy and I wiggle all over the place with it.

I have the Porter Cable saw. It is an excellent saw.

That is the only small circular saw I would buy. Not made any longer.

Tried others. Finally bought a used PC 314 and use it whenever that sort of thing is called for. I can't speak to the Worx but, the Rockwell was a gutless wonder; fine for 1/4" ply or thin "motor home" paneling but, that is about it.

There are several on ebay, if I wanted one. Just said it is the only one I would buy not that I wanted one.

I have the Rockwell badged 314. The sell for much cheaper on Ebay. I got mine for $80 some time ago. There is there now for $100

Just like my brother, I think those small Worx & Rockwell saws are virtually useless.

The PC314 is in a different class. I do have one more virtually new PC314 I was going to sell but haven't got around to it. I sold the last one in same condition for $350 and assume this one is worth that. I listed it here and it sold but took a couple months to find the right buyer. Worn used ones generally sell for more like $200-250 so that ebay listing is pushing it. It is one of the earlier made-in-US versions, which is good. The last revision PC314 are OK but well below the quality of the earlier versions.

If you are looking for something new for $250, I would buy the Makita 5005 5.5" trim saw. It is more like the PC 345 saw than the 314 so is a bit more general use saw than trim specific like the PC314.

If you want something that does nice trim work, there won't be any inexpensive solutions. If the existing 7.25" saw is just too large and heavy, perhaps paying for a lightweight version of that might be the solutions.
