Nice to see the AAW will be at the AWFS show in Las Vegas next week. Jimmy Clewes is the demonstrator. Turning to the Future student competition also has their own booth. Hoping Laguna brings their new 24" model, I'd like to check it out.

I'm a member of the AAW but I had to Google AWFS.
Is the AWFS worth attending as a hobbyist?
If your hobbyist interest is strictly turning, probably not. But if you would like to see industrial/commercial CNC type equipment making dust, yes. In days of old, Delta, Powermatic, Grizzly and the rest would have booths but those days are over. Would be quite an educational venture nonetheless. Plenty of sanding & finishing type suppliers represented to make it worthwhile. If you do attend, plan on 2 full days minimum. Felder, SawStop, Laguna and a few other will be there as far as having hobbyist type equipment. You could also visit Woodworkers Emporium in town.
