    Spray finish school

I spent 6 hours last Friday at a paint dealer that was at the Woodstock Wood show in Ontario. ML Campbell line of products, and I got to try a crackle finish. I made up a poplar raised panel door to experiment on. After 2 coats of an almond tinted lacquer primer, dried and sanded btween coats. Next, a wet coat of vinyl sealer followed a minute later with the orange tinted crackle, ( two guns required for this ). Very important to get both coats on at an even thickness, as it changes how much crackle you get. I got the edges only lightly sprayed and not much crackle happened there. I got to spray 1 coat of satin lacquer on the door before the class ended. I also got to watch other class participants try water based products, and two types of glazes. Got to try out a Kremlin gun, and then I wished I had the mega dollars for that spray system!
