Diameter of the PC 7518 Router Motor

I want to replace my 7518 motor in my table but I want to avoid needing to buy new components for my lift. If I can get another brand with the motor the same diameter as the PC 7518 I can avoid buy new components for my lift.

You could measure it yourself with an inexpensive digital caliper, like the ones your Harbor Freight sell. Then you can take it with you when looking at possible replacements to check them for size.

George, the diameter is about 4.2". Can't be anymore specific than that without taking the motor out of my lift.

Using a micrometer, mine measures 4.204 .

Just preparing for an eventual failure. The speed switch no longer has detentes for the various speeds so I am concerned the speed control may be failing. I should probably remove it from the table and make sure it is clean inside.

As for what I might replace it, with maybe the new one from Jessem. Just wish I knew who was making it for them. Hoping it not PC as their quality is definitely gone down hill. If not the Jessem the big Milwaukee if it will fit my Woodpecker lift.

I think we determined in another thread that the router offered with that Jessem speed-controlled package is the same 3-1/4 hp unit being sold by Portamate and MCLS (sp?). I considered the Portamate before buying my current PC 7518, but couldn't find enough info on it.

My hope would be that Jessem, being well-respected as they are, wouldn't be using it if it wasn't a good machine.

FWIW, the detentes on my 7518 are starting to feel iffy, as in, it's sometimes hard to tell where they are. It's about 6 months old. Light to moderate use, definitely not a production environment.
