    Flip Top Planer/Sander Stand

I finished up the assembly of my flip top planer/stander stand today. I incorporated many details from builds I found on this site. Construction is an oak plywood base with oak trim to hide the plywood edges. Top is a torsion type with plywood frame and mdf panels. Overkill for strength but I needed some thickness to make the latching system work and I didn't want it to get too heavy.

I started with a simple set of drawings, and then made some modifications as I proceeded. Thanks to all of you who have posted up your build pictures. Seeing what other people have done really made it possible to take what I thought were the best elements (for me) out of each design.

And some pictures from the build. It seems I never remember to take enough in-progress pictures.
