    motion sensor

    Hi Folks,
Is it ok to use a motion sensing switch to control two fixtures? I have a double box that currently has two switches in it, one to control lights, and another to control a bath vent. Can I wire both of them to a single occupancy sensing switch? I would like both the fan and the lights to be turned off when unoccupied. Or, can two sensing switches be installed in the double box? It seems like it would be very tight to fit both of them.

    thanks,
    Stevo

Wire the fan and the light in parallel. But make sure both the fan and the lights do not exceed the amp capicity of the switch. Unless you a honking big fan I doubt that would be case.

For 120 a switch can control as many devices as you want. I think 12 may be a max. Just make sure the switch can handle the amps.
For 240 I am not sure about multiple devices but they do allow multiple 240 light fixtures on one switch but, the switch may be controlling a relay somewhere.
