Does anyone have any information on the new Laguna 20" planer that is coming out? It is advertised as a 6-row helical cutter. I assume that would give a smoother cut and possibly quieter operation.

The 4-post planer looks like a typical Asian machine, but with the Laguna head installed. The head itself looks pretty good from what little I could find. Is this what you are asking about, or is there something newer?
I'm not sure if the inserts are a proprietary single source type thing with that screw head design. If so, be aware that you are committed to buying from Laguna.

its late reply but I just bought the 12", arrived today. So no info yet on it.
Sorry I mis-spoke yes I meant 20”, I also had the 12” jointer delivered. I got my 20’s and my 12’s mixed up.
Insert looks like the Byrd.

Actually in the small details they do not look like Byrd bits but you can buy them from Oella Saw along with most every other insert bits one could need.
edit: I should have explained, look at the line drawing in the picture above they have a T shoulder instead of a bevel like Byrd and the majority of other carbide insert bits.

Of all the laws Brandolini's may be the most universally true.
Deep thought for the day:
Your bandsaw weighs more when you leave the spring compressed instead of relieving the tension.
