    The Old Plough Plane

While cleaning out all the mess in the shop the past week or so....came upon a wood bodied plane..

The #4 Stanley is there to give an idea of scale. Made in Cincinnati, Oh....back in the 60s...1860s, that is....Handle was snapped off...skate was rusty...
Took things apart, all but the skate..

Screws will NOT budge. I stripped the old, nasty finish off...may have to make a new wedge...

Sole was NOT flat, and was angled a bit....plane to flatten...

These two hold the fence still...in theory...never got them to hold....new ones will get made?

This is supposed to be a fence....meh..

The rods are about the only things worth keeping....rest will get remade. Screws do not have a point on their ends....might keep them aside.

Looks like I need to get some lumber, and make a few parts....That Maple block I also found..

Might get made into a new tote? Temporary tote will be an old #5 handle.
    This might take awhile..stay tuned...

I suppose I should go shopping for a bit of lumber...mainly to replace the fence, and the three wedges. Lumber choice?

    Body appears to be Beech....
