    "Hart" wood HF

Here is my first true HF from some cherry that John Hart sent me. Thanks again John! Please feel free to share your suggestions regarding form or execution. I tried to mimic a crystal ball on a stand with this one...

Very nice Chris, Cherry is fun to work with. What size is the HF?

Great job for your first, second, thirty third or whatever. It looks good.

    Hi Chris,
That really looks nice. The ball form is a tough one to master, and it looks like you have it right on. Nice looking finish. Do you see anything in there???? Hay, I looked at your Itty Bitty, NOW THATS SMALL, when are you going to post it?????

Thanks everyone, the HF is about 4" high and is finished with shellac and the Beal system. Cherry is sure a pleasure to turn and this piece had some spalting and interesting figure in it. So now it looks like I am going to get me one of those incredible hollowing rigs to take this addiction to new lows...

Hey Chris. I like it. And it's darned round! I've tried and tried to get a piece round. They tend to just get smaller.

Very nice Chris. It rather does take the shape of a crystal ball and you can nevr go wrong with cherry!

Great piece. Like the shape and finish. Wish I could turn something that "round".
