I am making a few of these and this is my first with sliding lid. I did the inlay with maple and poplar into the bubinga cover and the eastern red cedar box. Double bevel inlay method using my scroll saw.

Well done, Jim. The inlay work is very nice...something on my bucket list to do, someday.
Very nice. The inlay is beautiful.

Well done, Jim. I've always liked slide top boxes and that form is also good for wall hanging candle boxes.
How did you attach the sides together? Are they just butted up and glued or are they rabbet jointed? Hard to tell from the picture
Very well done Jim!

Thank you for the kind comments:
I just cut the corners at 45 degrees and glue together. Top and bottom are simply butt joints, just glued.

This is absolutely stunning! Your mastery of the double bevel inlay method is evident in the precision of your work. The choice of materials adds a beautiful touch to the wine bottle box, making it both functional and visually appealing. Thanks for sharing your talent with us!
