    Shaper Q~?

    Whadaya think?
A Reliant Shaper 1/2 & 3/4 interchangable spindles, 1.5 HP motor, 8 & 10 Thou RPM spindle speed, no frills. Very cheap. Less than a cheap router cheap.

Worth the effort of going and getting it? or is 1.5 too little for a shaper.
rigged up wit h two blades it it might make a fine tenon cutter.

    Less than a cheap router?
It sounds like a no-brainer, not much to lose.

It'd be kinda like a router table. If you already have a router table, save your money for a 3 hp shaper -- one which is very different from your router table.

I'd keep your router table and save for minimum 3HP shaper. You will end up paying shaper cutter tooling prices but getting something closer to router table performance. You didn't mention the price, but if its cheap enough and you don't have a router table it might work for you in that capacity. Just keep in mind you wont be getting what most people think of as a full blown shaper capacity.
