    It finally clicked. Its really crazy just how light of pressure you need apply. Like Reed said, basically none. Reed, I recently watched a few of your videos and I must say, I learned much.
    I think cranking the speed up over 3k really helped a lot as well. So thanks for that tip JKJ.

    When ripping say a 2'x2' from a wider board its not uncommon to see a warp develop right before your eyes! Is it possible the same kind of thing happens when turning and stress is relieved from the spindle and causing the vibration....and the spiral groove cut


    I've not seen the morse taper deal before; slick idea.
