Birdseye maple bathroom stool for the kiddo

I’ve seen a bunch of these little stools, thought it would be a fun little project for my little guy, good practice for hand cutting dovetails. I’ve had this 8/4 chunk of Birdseye in my shop for a couple months, it was rough sawn. I got the work dimensioning in and holy hanna is it a stunner, all of 5A quality, and absolutely miserable to plane with even laser sharp tools. Finished in odies oil.

Stunning wood Justin. That's the highest end step stool ever.

Wow...what a show-piece that's also spot-on functional. Lucky kid...and lucky 'rents to have beautiful things doing important jobs!

I’ve always been a fan of letting the wood do the brunt of the heavy lifting. Haha.

That has to be the best bathroom stool ever. Beautiful wood and great craftsmanship.
