    Memeber List, sortable by state

Was curious if in the "Member List" we could have a sortable column for location by State (for those that live in the states). Most everyone has their state location already on thier profile so why not. If people don't want to list thier state, then they don't have to. It would be a personal preference. Thought I'd throw a poll out there for this also, it will close in 10 days from 1-21-06
    Thanks for your input.

    Doug.

Down here you would only need two choices, "Western Australia" and "The Others".

You bet, Doug! I've been real fortunate in kind of paying attention to fellow Cheeseheads and have had the extreme pleasure of meeting quite a few of them, but I like the idea. Heck, it's even nice to even check out some of our closer neighbors, as well.

Doug: You are not the first who has dreamed of such a capability. My thinking is there are some pretty big states in this old US of A, my Texas being one of them. If you live in the NE, you could drive across 4 or 5 states in less time than it would take me to drive from El Paso to Houston!!! We would need this thing set up to sort by city as well as state if it is going to be really useful.

Good idea, but it should be made generic by including country and major political division (if any) within country.

No kidding. The other end of California is closer to Canada than it is to me.

Sorting by ZIP code should get you close.

Before we get to sorting, it would be great just to have everyone give, as a minimum, their state.

From time to time someone will ask where do I get a ???? If I knew the state they lived in, I would know if I could help out, or just wait for someone else to guess a location.

For Pete's sakes, no one is going to drop by and use you as the object of an axe murder for just listing the state you live in. Of course, if I lived in some locations, I wouldn't want people to know either
    Best Regards, Ken

Hello everyone; this is my first post, and the minute I came to this forum I wanted to see how many Canucks were here and where they resided. I think it would be a great idea and a help to find someone who resides close to you.

I have seen on another forum, a map that each member can put their location. It was called Frapper. This particular one was North America (including of course Canada and Mexico).
