    Bird bath out of cypress

We have a lot of deer in the area and they keep knocking over the bird bath we have in our perennial garden. Wondering if I can make one out of cypress that would tolerate the water in the bowl over time or too much mold from the water/wood contact?

    Thanks.

Some cypress is no better than than than lots of other woods. Has to be the old heart wood to be the long lasting stuff. But…you can use
any kind of wood for that if you use a waterproof glue to cover the bowl with with light canvas and paint it with epoxy paint.

I have a cement birdbath bowl and pedestal and no deer, or anything else in my area, has ever knocked it over.
