    My mistake

In rebuilding my Mark 5 Shopsmith I had a part left over. It runs fine but I did not take pictures "before" so I am not qualified for the "after" solution!
Can any of you Shopsmith educated folks remind me where I should have put it?

I can't but I am reminded of the hilarious Gary Larson surgical cartoon captioned "Whoa! Watch where that thing lands - We'll probably need it."

No clue where it goes but it looks like a wave washer. Google wavy or wave washer to get a description of its purpose. That and the ID of the washer should give you several hints to help your search.

Wave washer or wave spring washer to keep a slight preload on a ball bearing. The outer diameter is what determines what it fits. The Id is just a random size clearance for the rotating shaft. The id is probably much bigger then needed.
