Walnut blanket Chest with hidden Drawer

Walnut blanket chest for my 20 something Nephew with Hidden drawer inspired by Derek's bed side tables recently posted here. Simple design- I wanted the figure in the wood to be the star- book matched, grain wrapping. Honestly really just a vehicle for the hidden drawer. For all the furniture I've built for our Boys over the years, the hidden compartments are always their favorite part!

    Cheers, Mike

Mike, that is a beautiful ….and masculine piece. Your nephew will enjoy it for all his bachelor days, then his wife will “ really need it”
    for her stuff.

That came out great. Sure to be an instant heirloom. A hidden drawers works better than a safe

Very nice. The walnut is beautiful. I have a blanket chest on my list of projects coming up soon.

Mike, that is just beautifully designed and made! I would say that you surpassed yourself, but your standards are always ridiculously high

I especially like this bit …

Similar to that I did several years ago (but not as nice as yours) …

A bit late to the party, but exceptional work Mike. Hope all is well with you!
