    weekend Step Stool

This Walnut stepstool was a fun weekend project. It's from fine woodworking book on "small projects". Super easy to do with all hand tools and the angled, through wedged M&T joints were fun opportunity to use your chisels to work on that "mortise precision". I'm super bad at geometry but I figured out by the end of this project all the angles are 10 degrees – just set the bevel gauge at the beginning of the project and go from there.

    Cheers, Mike

Always liked the the train tunnels on those ! I was shocked at an early age to see someone sit on a train tunnel.

Real nice! That walnut really fits the project.

The stool looks nice but I can't get past the wedges in the top running parallel to the grain.

You’re totally right Ed- wedges on top should have gone the other way- sorry my bad! At least I got them right for horizontal stretcher-side M&T.
