The Oneway 12” Mini Easy-Coring System 3270 is new in the original box. The Oneway 12” Mini Easy-Coring System 3270 includes The Base and The Knife. You will need to buy a clamp block specific to your lathe from Oneway or other sources.
The Oneway 12” Mini Easy-Coring System 3270 is used to core out a large wood blank into small wood blanks. It was designed specifically for 12" swing lathes such as the Oneway 1224, 1236SD or similar lathes. The 12" Mini Coring System is different from it's larger counterparts in that only one knife is necessary because of the smaller size of the blanks being cored. Different sized cores are obtained by simply moving the base. The Easy-Core System helps you get the most from an expensive burl or bowl blank without exhausting yourself in the process. Even novice turners can easily remove several bowls from one blank.
The cutters are made from HSS CPM M4 which is the same steel used to make Oneway's Mastercut Turning Tools which provide an excellent cutter life. Cutters are replaceable and can easily be sharpened on a bench grinder platform.
Coring will save you time, save your tools, save your wood, and can save on a huge amount of clean-up. All these things ultimately save you money! Coring is a very time effective method to make a bowl. You are not only done faster, but it is also less physically demanding and gives you the ability to get several bowls out of one piece. Hollowing out a large bowl can take a large toll on your tools. Coring does require the cutter to be sharpened regularly, but the amount of sharpening required per bowl is drastically reduced.
