A motor starter is a different name for a contactor. It often includes overloads. I would only buy adjustable overloads now. No need to buy separate heaters to match the load. You can add overloads to any switch.

Id like the cover for an old dovetailer then put danfoss contactor inside. have some old danfoss with round corners so old it looks Art Deco

Okay, here's what I've come up with:

I've got a motor starter that might be rated at 5hp, I'll go take a look. it's an old allen bradley if you are interested.
I replaced it with a VFD.
edit: Only 3hp...

Thanks for the suggestions, fellas. I got the saw wired up and running so I figured I would post an update on this thread. I used the starter and switch that I posted previously. I also wired in a limit switch to be used as an emergency stop but I have yet to construct the foot operated lever that will trigger it.
Eventually I will restore the saw but this is how she sits currently:

Feel free to add another "off" switch on the back or side near the back. Helps if you are one guy pulling big pieces off the back of the saw.
I bought a rope switch to use as a foot "off" switch. Took too much pull to be easy to adapt so I am still thinking. My lathe has a mechanical foot brake and off switch setup on it.

My 12/14 saw I unbolted the 5" tall plinth and added a 5" tall rolling base.

Good idea, I'll think about it.
Eventually it will be bolted to an outfeed table along with the Grizzly saw that sits at a right angle to this saw. For service and maintenance, I can use the forklift to move it around.
