While not at all cheap, the MicroFence elipse jig is very good. But you're talking big bucks if you don't already have their circle jig.

Wow, at those prices for ellipse jigs, I'd draw it using the method in this video and then cut it out on the bandsaw or jigsaw and clean it up by sanding to the line or make a template and use a router with a pattern bit.

I've made several elliptical dining tables. I made a pattern using the string method that is a quarter of ellipse plus a bit of overlap. Saw outside the line and finish with a pattern bit.

    Router ellipse kit under $25.00

Building a table is a lot of work and expense and getting it built right is a matter of pride and skill. However you do not have to spend a bunch of $$$$$ to be a proficient woodworker.
the derails below are pretty simple but will take you some time to create . It will however result in you getting the table shape you want and at the same time prevent you from cutting too far into your table as is possible with a router that runs on the inside of a template.
A good quality straight bit is all you need, however a profile bit can also be used either way a piloted bit is not required just be careful not to jump the contact between your router and the template.
    Good luck.

You might consider making your own jig. Search YouTube for many examples. I made the one Izzy Swan posted. It was quick and easy to make and worked fine the one time I used it.. I also notice one made by Bourbon Moth which is probably a little more elaborate.

This is my approach as well. Creating a fair quarter and using it 4 times took a while to figure out.

Woodhaven makes some nice jigs. I used their large one years ago to make a big coffee table.

I’ve used all of the elliptical methods above and they work well. Can’t stand the “ circle parts” fake ellipse….and I have never made
a girl friend’s corsage out of apple peelings ! ….strangely, they just don’t look appealing .
