    Storing hand planes

I have my shop in my basement and I have a dehumidifier set on 50%. I have some rust on a couple and have re4moved the rust, but have the rust stain on the metal. No need to remove this? How do you store your planes, do you put a light oil on them, store them in a lightly oily rag...?

    Thanks.

My shop, during the summer, stays around 60% and 78 degrees and most planes are stored on a plywood shelf with no finish. In use I use a Oil Rag In A Can so the planes get a regular oiling. I keep a few fans a air filters running anytime I'm in the shop. The only time I've had rust problems was when i kept my "special" planes in a drawer

The significant problems we encounter cannot be solved at the same level of thinking we were at when we created them.

The penalty for inaccuracy is more work

Mine are in a Drawer in the original box. Should I wet a light rag with oil and wrap them? Thanks brian
