    SCM widebelt sander

I need to replace the V belts on my old SCM CS sander. From what I can see, the drive roller (which has the pullies attached) needs to be moved clear of the shaft mounts to allow the belt to be installed. I am sure anyone who has experience with this will know what I am talking about. I don't want to start taking things apart until I can confirm how its done. Thanks for any help on this.

It's been a while since I replaced mine. But I believe that I put a support block under the drum and raised the table until it was just touching. Then there is a flange/hub thingy that holds the dead shaft that runs through the center of the drum. That hub is held in place with 4 screws that are right there on the outside of the drive end of the drum. Take the screws out, gently pry the hub out, and the belts can slip on/off.

Here's a pic of my 1999 vintage sander with the 4 screws holding the flange.
