If I'm doing this for someone that is older and not technical, I'd use a wireless doorbell. If they're tech savvy, cell phone or watch text

I have Amazon Echo Shows for this. Not a cheap solution, and also might not be loud enough or noticeable enough while working with headphones on. But is it a reasonably nice intercom and music/podcast player, etc...
    - After I ask a stranger if I can pet their dog and they say yes, I like to respond, "I'll keep that in mind" and walk off
    - It's above my pay grade. Mongo only pawn in game of life.
