    Cross grain box

This is the first cross grain box I’ve ever made, 5” x 3.5”. From a shallow black walnut half log that I won at a club meeting and didn’t know what to do with.
I tried texturing the inside and bottom and it didn’t come out very crisp (looks worse in the picture) but you live and learn.
    Comments and critiques welcome.

I think it looks very nice. Nice shape and pretty wood.

Nice form. I would place the decoration feature in the lid and make the body interior have a rounded bottom. This makes it easier to remove the contents of the box while having a decoration always visible to the user.

Thanks for the tips - that totally makes sense and will do so on the next one.

I appreciate the comment from others as well.
