12" long coping saw blades never made that much sense to me.

Find someone that goes through a bunch of Bandsaw blades...ask IF you can have a few of the broken blades.....such as a 1/4" wide blade....cut to the length you want, drill 2 holes for the pin at each end...

A turning saw is merely a Bow OR Frame saw, where you can easily turn the blade IN the saw...
