Mystery tool - what is it???

I found this tool amongst a bunch of stuff that I've gathered over the years. Does anyone have any idea what it is or what it is for? There's no miter slot on the backside, so I can imagine what the heck it is for. I don't think that it's homemade; looks like something from a catalog. Any ideas?

Looks like a coping sled that's missing pieces.

Do a google search for coping sled and see one.

A work-piece holder. It looks like it could function in several ways.

Oh neat. And if I’d ever took the time to make any cabinet door, I probably would have figured that out. Thanks for the info, guys. Now I need to try it out sometime.
