    Turning cedar saving color

Is their a way to keep the nice red color in cedar after being turned? I have a piece in the shop that the center turned brown, any way to avoid this after turning a bowl?

The only way to preserve it is keep the finished piece in a dark drawer. All wood oxidizes and changes color from UV light and it doesn't have to be in direct light to change.

Thanks, some of my bowls would be better in a dark drawer. 🤣
