If the router does have a 1/2" collet Whiteside does make a precision reducer to take it down to 8mm. Pretty popular with the Leigh jig guys that prefer the 8mm shanks.

I use Eclaire for replacement collets for the Makita palm router on my CNC. Very well made collets and good service.
