2 items from a Road Trip

Total cost was just over $109, counting tax, and a 10% Discount...the items?

The iron is a Stanley 2-3/8" wide, almost unused..$12?

As for the Union....No. 41....was listed as $100...got that 10% discount, which helped a bit...

    Turned down a Stanley No. 5c ( $50) a No. 606...and a Stanley No. 5-1/2....

Saw a LOT of planes that were priced like they were Gold Plated...was more on the look out for tools the shop didn't already have...

I did take a lot of photos, today..IF anyone wants to look them over...

remember..IF it is inside a LOCKED glass case..$$$....there is a Stanley No. 4-1/2 in there..$125?

And..not everything was made of iron, either...

A closer look at that tag on the Stanley iron..
    April Road trip, new iron.jpg
That be the original price tag...price was $1.53....Iron has never been used, nor sharpened..still has the "Factory Grind Edge"

Logo on the iron is in the clipped corner style box...with MADE IN USA under the box. Width is 2-3/8"..and is 3/32" thick...

Might just be worth the $12 I paid for it?

    Along with a #12 24 die..there is also a #12 28 die....might be a Stanley size?

    Aisle #5 corner...
April Road Trip, Stall #4, Ok....jpg
Stall #4...walk in the front door, hang a right..4th stall on the left side..
April Road Trip, Stall #4, right side.jpg
    Molding planes?

Just above these Match Planes...there was a #192 by Stanley...

Place is in Harmony, OH...east of Springfield,OH on US 40...just before the I-70 interchange....IF you go, plan on a couple hours just walking through all the rooms...and aisles...

I experienced that Antique mall on a road trip a few years back. They had more vintage tools than I've seen outside of American Homestead. One guy easily had 25 drawknives, with many like new. That T&G Plane was a nice score. That's one plane that's on my very short list.
Sharp solves all manner of problems.

    Steven,

Good job, and I think that $12 for that iron is a SUPER deal on your part.

The Union No. 41 had lost a lot of it's Nickel Plating....so, Mr. Brown will be giving it a brand new Nickel Plate look...
