I did that to a vase once and it sits in view from my lathe as a reminder.
Now, with all these sugestions, I may go back to it and put an ebony bottom on it.

    Dale,
I’m beginning to wonder if your old conservative ways!!, may not be one of the reasons I’m intrigued by you. You present such a conundrum; like a delicate flower, beautiful, sensitive, politically correct, mentally "challenged" … and a Republican too!
Too bad the Creek doesn’t have a Political Forum, where Tyler “Long Thong” Howell, John “Max-Wax(ed)” Miliunas, Dale “Pesh-Mesh” Thompson and Frank “Arena Gladeatur” Chaffee could tag team duke it out. Just as well we have PM’s, I guess.
Good to see you again too,
    Frank
Yes, where is the bottom of the bowl?

It's funny how you stop looking when you find what you're searching for. I think you found the bottom of that bowl.

Sorry it happened that way. All I can say is from experience, put it behind you and turn the next piece.
