Now Charles, I'm a pepper mill kinda guy. To me that's outstanding, looks like it fits well to the hand. CrushGrind??

    Very nicely done,

Looks nice! 12" sounds like a good size, big but not too big. I like the shape. The segments go well with the shape. My pepper mill died recently so I think I'll try one soon myself.

    Nice Charles...
This is one of the many reasons I looked into the vortex...I couldn't find a Pepper Mill we really liked.

Hey that is as good an excuse as I've heard yet

My wife REALLY wants a set of those mills, the ones we have found here in Japan, are a) too cheap, won't last long, the finish is no good, and the grinding mechanism is not good, or they are really nice, and BOY do they cost a lot, more than a good lathe ....

....see honey, I can make you a pepper mill JUST how YOU like it and with a good mechanism....

Oh yeah, I can do that!!

The segmented stuff looks so cool Charles, do you just use normal white glue on that?

Is it important to make sure the grain is all running in similar ways?

    Just curious.

    Very nice piece!

    Cheers!

Charles, Very nice, just as fun to glue up the blank as it is to turn it.

Well Stu I used Titebond II for the glue up and all the grain is running the same way. The cutting of the segments and the glue up is fun once you get the jig correct and the pieces fit together right.
