    Galoot In Training -

Having a son who uses forked tail apprentices and has been corrupting the mind of my grandson Aaron with thoughts of Porter-Cable, Jet, and Delta, I needed to apply some correction. Having him home alone with me today while my wife was at the doctors and no one was around to interfere, I decided to teach about the paths of righteousness. We had a great time and it's a good way for Grandpa to have some school vacation time with him. It has been decided that he will get to spend one weekend nite a month visiting and I'm going to build him a box so he can reach the bench more comfortably. He is going to learn about the truly important names in woodworking: Stanley, Veritas, Lie-Neilsen, Spiers, and of course Norris.

    Red face Uh-oh!

Hopefully the young man will watch and learn from both you and your electron using son and ignore both your biases. That way he will grow into a fine woodworker competent with whatever tool best fits the job and be able to outdo Dad and Grandpa!

Somehow, I bet you would be just as proud anyway you look at it. How old is this budding maker of shavings?

    Ain't it great !!!!

I also have a Grandson (one of 3) who is a young apprentice. It really warms your heart to have the Grandkids in the shop. Here is my apprentice:

Aaron is 7 and soon to be 8

It was truly a great day for me and of course the best part is I'm going to get to do this one day a month. YAHOO !! Today was actually a little bit of a teaser for him. He's been wanting to do this for a while so I let him do some easy stuff and just play. Next time we will start on a series of project oriented lessons, maybe a birdhouse or a key chain rack for him to give to my son. I'm open to any suggestions you folks might have. DAMN I'm proud of him.
