    Corian question.

I can't seem to get good info on how, where and if I can get a piece of Corian 1/4" by 36" diameter.

    Any help?

Gonna make a kitchen table out of it.

The Corian I have seen is 1/2 inch thick. The only places that seem to have it are cabinet or kitchen shops that install it. They might need to glue it up to get a piece 36 inches in diameter, but it glues well, and the seams don't show if it is done correctly. The glue is impossible to get for your own use, as it requires some special training to be qualified to use it. My advice would be to contact a local shop that sells and installs Corian for countertops and have them make up a square piece for you that is big enough for your table top. You can cut it into the shape you want yourself, and trim the edges with carbide cutting tools.

Here's the info on their sheet sizes and which colors the different sized sheets are available in:

You may have a tough time buying Corian though without going through a local countertop dealer/fabricator. Corian seems to have some pretty stiff distribution rules. You can often find the color-matched adhesive from sellers on eBay if the color you need isn't too exotic. I've been able to buy some of the other Corian-like brands (Wilsonart in particular) with no hassle at.

Go to flEa-Bay and type "Corian Sheet" into the search box. There's a place in Mesquite, TX that carries it. Look like most is 1/2" thick, but you can always ask if they carry 1/4".

Ok, now that I think about it more 1/4" would be kind of unreasonable. 1/2" is good. Really though, they'd need to glue up a 36" round? Hmmph

Anyone know if I can order this through Home Depot or Lowes. I'm going there tomorrow to ask but, if someone can save me the trip....

    Thanks.
