    figure 8 table top fasteners

    Hello,

Newbie question here... I've seen 'figure 8' fasteners used on a couple of DIY woodworking TV shows, and in several magazine articles (which I can't find at the moment). I just moved into a new place, and the previous owner left some very serviceable cabinets downstairs in the basement shop... but the tops ain't fastened down. This is for a workbench, so pretty don't count for much, but it seemed like a good idea to get some figure 8 fasteners to cinch down that bench top... except I can't find any locally, and am not having much luck so far online... any pointers or suggestions would be welcome.

    Thanks,

    Monte

    Monte,
To fasten table tops down, I just take a piece of scrap and cut 45's in the ends. Screw the end to the apron and the screw through the scrap to the top. Cheap and easy.

    Rocklers.. In the hardware section...
If you can't fix it with a hammer, you have an electrical problem.
