I delivered the coffee table to Jessica...she wasn't home...skiing with Jason.... I hope she likes it. I snuck in in her home this afternoon. The miters were tight which is critical in this type of construction. It was all made from 4/4 white oak..

That is really something Mark. Very nice indeed!

That looks really nice Mark I like the illusion that you created by using 4/4 material.

Beautiful fit and finish!
What brew was used? (err, finishing brew that is...)
Gee, I might have to make something like that. I bet my kids would have to work overtime to cause damage to that stout looking table. I've been learning wwing using white oak. Stuff sure is brittle. I've got a 1000 brd.ft. or so of q-sawn from a tree I had to cut down. Spent the weekend making floor/room transitions for the guy who needed the tree removed for space for his new home. We managed to only mess one up. Sure is good P.R. to make homeowners something from their own wood. He has commisioned me to make 25 boxes for his business. That's just to get an internet business going. He says he might need 100's of boxes soon.

This was a special brew...yellow cream waterbased stain....sanded to create a pckled finish. Then Seal-A Cell, then 3 coats of Arm-R-Seal. Then Howards paste wax and my Rotex with 0000 steel wool. Then buff with Rotex and a small towel spinning.. The Rotex burnished the wax and it feels like glass...still giving a hand rubbed finish and good protection

Yup, me thinks Jessica will be very, very pleased! You most certainly pulled off the real robust look without having the extreme weight associated with it. Very nice, my friend! Great job and tell Jess I says, "Hi".
