What and how do you seal fresh cut wood

New guy question here. What do you guys use to seal freshly cut logs while you are waiting to rough turn them? Also if you cut a bowl blank from a log how do you seal that while you wait? I have past up several freshly cut logs of various species laying on the street after the last round of storms went thru because I wasnt sure how to store them.

    Inquiring minds want to know.

Mike I seal the end grain with Anchorseal, put them in a shaded area and they are generally good for a few months. After rough turning, I do the same, seal the end grain with Anchorseal, put them in a paper bag and let them sit for 6 or so months before finish turning. Has worked quite well so far. Others will have methods they have used, I'm sure.

    Sealing wood

You can melt wax and pour on the ends and even paint will seal some, but Anchorseal is the best. Its pretty expensive in small quantities, maybe you can buy a 5 gal can (I think its about $50 shipped) and split some off to other wood workers.
